Unfit Doesn't Mean Unworthy

That's a view of my kitchen sink and window at night, from my computer. Fancy, huh? Not really.
My kitchen is a hard working kitchen. It is also an eat in kitchen, and if labels are thing, my kitchen is an UnFit Kitchen (or unfitted).  Not unfit, as in, unfit to eat in or work in, but unfit as in. I have one bank of cabinets that are mounted and the rest of my kitchen includes free standing, moveable pieces.  It's mostly the style of some European kitchens.
So much happens in that room, and it is very centrally located in my old farm house.
When I say that it is hard working. I mean, my kitchen works for what it is... and it has to work very hard to keep up with the demands placed upon it. The most modern appliance in my kitchen is a 15 year old stainless refrigerator.  Ah the stainless trend, remember when it came on the scene? Everything was stainless.

I fought hard for that refrigerator. Fought?  I made a huge stand for it.
I wanted it. The husband made his living in steel work. Before he retired he was a welder, a grinder, a finisher, he broke and formed the metal and polished it like glass to make it shiny. He did not want that stainless steel refrigerator. I wanted it because of the stainless steal doors that would match the highly polished and very shiny stove top of my 1956 Chambers Range. Oh yes! they would go together beautifully! And so he relented.

Everything in this kitchen whether its an old and vintage gas range or a more modern up-to-date refrigerator, Works.
The cabinets have seen better days, but they hold the dishes, and small appliances, and groceries. Is there a pantry in this old kitchen... Nope. But I am content with my old farmhouse kitchen, where the only thing that really shines in there now a days are those doors.

With all it's quirks and idiosyncrasies... I love my kitchen.

This is my life. I'm incomplete, unfit. I'm older now than I've ever been. I'm older than my mother was when she passed, 23 yrs ago. I've got some good qualities and I've got some not so good qualities.  For a time I was trendy. Now, I am surviving and keeping up with the demands placed upon me, but working so hard to do it! For all my quirks, idiosyncrasies and yes, sins... God Loves me.

What is the one thing that makes me and my kitchen worthy?
Grace.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:8-10

    Ransack- To examine thoroughly
    Search me, God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

See if there is any offensive way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting.

God RANSACKS my heart. I share His Word and my Testimony-- not always in that order.  Sometimes... it's ugly.
